Our cottages have been our home and business but sadly due to developments in New Zealand we have to hand the reins onto someone else.

Set on just under three acres of tropical gardens this location has it all, surrounded by tropical jungle, no neighbours and overlooking the Pacific, the cottages has three self-contained one bedroom cottages, one two bedroom cottage and a three bedroom family cottage. Bookings pre-Covid was at 95% occupancy for the high season and forward bookings are already filling up fast with large groups and family bookings. Most bookings are word of mouth and repeat bookings; we also work with a selection of travel agents and tour guides. Our growth area for new guests is in the social media platforms, which can be managed without an agent.

We have built Namukulu Cottage's reputation up to be the best self-contained tourist accommodation in Niue and you can reap the rewards of our hard work and add your own personal touches. Our guests enjoy the plane day pizzas,an outdoor cinema, bike tours and fresh baked bread that we developed and now offer.

Pre Covid, Air NZ flew to Niue two times a week with an average of 130 passengers per plane. “Plane days” mean that you have two days a week where you have to do change overs and aren’t doing a daily clean. All cottages are set up as self-contained with everything the guest needs to look after themselves. With the flights you have guests for four, seven or 11 days, most guests stay an average of 11 nights.

All the cottages have been meticulously refreshed with new paint and curtains, a significant amount of time and capital has been spent on upgrading them.

The cottages can be run by a couple very easily and we employ two lovely cleaners during the busy season for the twice weekly change overs. All cottages have solar hot water systems.

The property has its own 45000l chlorine filtered pool (New lining in 2019)with an automated cleaning machine,  a small bar, a commercial kitchen (with health certification and liquor licence) and full laundry onsite. Container workshop and four storage containers onsite, two Toyota vehicles and luggage trailer. 14 well maintained mountain bikes and two e-bikes for guest hire.

Upcoming projects for us in the next 12 months are an addition to our outdoor cinema area, increasing the size of the bar kitchen, new chef’s oven in the commercial kitchen.

Namukulu Cottages is a great boutique wedding venue and we have been approached for this for 2023 season. This is part of our business plan for the upcoming year.

Everything you need to maintain the property comes with the sale and there are very easy logistics for importing items from New Zealand.

Our Owners/Managers dwelling is a private upstairs/downstairs two bedroom dwelling with amazing views and great indoor/outdoor living areas, brand new kitchen, two refurbished bathrooms, one with a spa bath.
